Tasik Kenyir or Kenyir Lake is an artificial lake located in Hulu Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia created in 1985 by the damming of the Kenyir River. The lake provides water to the Sultan Mahmud Power Station.

Tasik Kenyir is a place that I have to pass through in order for me to reach my granny’s which is at Setiu. The expressway is like a shortcut for us en routing from Gua Musang to Setiu. Our journey is shortened by 2-3 hours if we took this route rather than taking the Gua Musang-K. Krai -Machang-Setiu route.

There is nothing much to see along the route but green trees, calm water and of course they’re truly wonderful, amazing to look at.

Aside from above, there is also an elephant sanctuary that authorities have made it public just few years ago.

Kenyir is more than meets the eyes. And these are few of interesting photos I’ve took while in Kenyir. For the meantime, you can check out my website that showing some photos of Tasik Kenyir and our adventure while circling several islands there:

Boating around Kenyir Lake

Kenyir earned some precious points on my book not only because of some random views that I recorded above but the peaceful and serenity it brings.
